Shapes

So what's new? Yet another set of shapes you think? This low cost set of shapes made with innovative paper technology has been designed with children with disabilities in mind. With more and more children included in regular classrooms settings, it is important for typical learning material to be accessible.

The size and shape of the pieces enable easy grasping, the high contrast colours draw visual attention and help children focus on the forms. Shapes fits neatly into their matching black pad and the pads slip into the groove of the white holding table.

Teachers can choose to set children up with single puzzles or the entire set depending on their ability levels. With 4 sets, the teacher can set up table activities where children can work cooperatively or by themselves. Activity suggestions include self-guided games or group games that encourage pre reading and pre math skills.

Kickboard

A great first toy to engage your infants with the world around them.

The kick board has a soft foam surface and bold patterns in high contrast make it the perfect visual target even for children with very poor vision. It can be suspended near the hands or feet to encourage those early skills of purposeful reaching. At the slightest touch, the kick board will bounce and jingle, an irresistible feedback for the young baby.

Touch Board

Matching helps children develop the pre-math and pre-reading concept of same and different and usually encourages visual discrimination skills. The touch board reinforces the same concept but develops the sense of touch. The triangular holders help children learn to be systematic and to orient the pieces reinforcing another important basic concept - direction.

The large spaces allow children with physical impairments feel easily and develop the otherwise often ignored skill of tactile discrimination. Touch boards can also be used to reinforce the use of vision in children with low vision.

Tactile Cards

Develop your capacity to discriminate through touch! A game for all children 5 years and above, the tactile cards come in sets of 20 and at two levels of difficulty. A variety of favourite card games such as Go Fish!, Memory, and Solitaire can keep you entertained while developing your capacity to perceive patterns with your finger tips.

Activity Walls

Activity walls are appropriate for children's bedrooms, playrooms, and hospital or clinic waiting rooms. They are bright, cheerful splashes of colour and fun, allowing some interactive exploration and discovery. The rich textures and colours make it fun for any child.

Activity walls can be made to order so you can hang your child’s favourite theme like a painting in his bedroom or create a learning experience for your class.

Pillows

Brighten up your child's room with Pillow from Chetana. Bright colours, textures, and fun activities right on the pillow make these favourites for parents and children alike.

For children with disabilities who have trouble reaching out to discover the environment, the Pillow can be placed to encourage exploration, hand skills and meaningful play.

The activities are appropriate for children with limited motor control. They give interesting tactile and auditory feedback to the exploring child. The colours have been especially selected to attract and maintain visual attention. Pillow can be incorporated into many routine activities from bedtime to therapy sessions and serves as an effective object cue for the activity or place for children with deafblindess and other multiple sensory impairments.

Whistle Wand

Easy to hold tube with bright colours, when held vertical and flipped around, makes a curious whistling sound. Fun for kids of all ages!

The bright colour and unusual sounds encourage exploration and experimentation among children. Great prop for a creative movement class - children practice gross motor skills as they hold it and jump, develop fine motor control as they twirl it with their fingers, or turn their wrists briskly to activate the whistle.

Bonus feature: In a darkened room, shine a pen torch through the side with an opening to get a mesmerizing glow effect. Excellent way to encourage meaningful visual search, look and reach behaviour and sustained looking among children who have trouble using their vision effectively.

Cloth (Infants: birth to six months)

Stimulates vision, hearing, movements of hands and feet. Encourages awareness & exploration of the environment. Designed to appeal to children with special needs including vision loss and cerebral palsy. Features: Toweling material as base to give a soft, comfortable surface for the infant to lie on. Incorporates features designed to appeal to infants such as colours, patterns, and textures.
